About Hiromichi Yokochi
Born in 1981 in Aichi Prefecture, Yokochi works as a Sukajan painter in Dobuita Street, Yokosuka — the birthplace of the Sukajan. His life’s work focuses on reviving the traditional embroidery and brush styles from the early Sukajan era (1940s–1950s). His art is characterized by the technique of layering paint as if applying embroidery stitches.
