The MOAL 77 NM is a premium reissue inspired by Montreal II, one of the first jogging shoes released by Onitsuka Tiger in 1977.

The original Montreal II played an important role in popularizing jogging—not only as a training method for athletes, but as an accessible everyday activity for the general public, thanks to its beautiful color combinations and comfortable design. The MOAL 77 NM faithfully revives this heritage while upgrading comfort with modern technology.

Iconic details such as the rolled-up herringbone-pattern outsole and bright upper color variations are carefully reproduced. To enhance cushioning, a 6 mm GEL insert is added to the heel of the insole—a first for this shoe—while the midsole uses SPEVA, offering superior rebound and lightness compared to traditional EVA. These updates help absorb impact and provide a smoother, more comfortable ride.
